I bought some of this sugar subsitute and am a little leary on trying it in every day baking. Has anyone used it and how did you like it? Also is there any medical draw back when it comes to using these products? Thanks

I was a HUGE Splenda fan when it first came out, which is sucralose. I bought the stuff by box and all my diet drinks were made with Splenda. At the time my family and I thought we finally found a great alternative to sugar. But it has a dark side that is not widely talked about. Chlorine is used in the process of making it, which inpart has lots of harmful side effects and long term problems which are just now coming to the surface. At the time I didn’t know. The problem is that it has not been around long enough to really see the long term effects of it on your body. Just Google "Sucralose Dangers" and you will see thousands of pages talking about it. This could have been a contributing factor in my getting Cancer. So my advice, stay away from it. For now I use something called Stevia, which seems to be a decent sugar alternative. I've been using stevia, but I'm quitting. I thought it was the best there is. I don't think it has sucralose, instead maltodextrin. But some critics say it may have some cancer causing additives. http://www.mothernature.com/shop/detail.cfm/sku/49116So far, I would say, use Raw Organic Honey. Also try, agave nectar which is low glycemic, and has no sucralose, its totally natural from an agave fruit. But the raw honey is so much sweeter, and better than plain sugar. The agave, for me, is not sweet enough. Others would completely disagree, so you might prefer it if you try.

I found stevia in the raw and truvia brands don't have maltodextrin. So those are the best looking ones.
