I'm Kira, I've been slowly changing habits for a new life. I'm one pound short of a 4 stone loss down from 310. (14 lbs to a stone)
My weak point: I eat more than I burn. typical right? But I'm conscious of it and right now my biggest emphasis is on moving more.

Summary: My diet is clean, but my fitness is weak. I'm mostly sedentary but I'm incorporating weight training into my plan, to burn max calories and prevent sagging skin. I'm waiting on a purchase for the biggest loser bodybugg, I have met others who have achieved significant weight loss using it and have become more aware of their moves and burning power. My kitchen is plentiful with healthful choices. I'm increasing my fiber intake which has helped my weight loss. I'm thinking of making a career change that will put me on my feet rather than in front of a desk all day.

So happy to have found this site, and I've lost 3 lbs since joining! It's exactly what I need. Thank you!

Welcome Kira!

You hit the nail on the head!

One of my main reasons for creating this site was to allow people to see exactly how many calories you intake per day, or be conscious of your calorie intake vs. your burned calories.

I don’t think a lot of people realize how fast calories add up, and while there are other factors in weight gain, calorie intake is the biggest.

Even if someone were to sign up for a day to input their calories and not ever use this site again I would still be happy. Being conscious of your calorie intake is a big first step toward losing weight.

Maybe I should create a “Day Use” calorie counter, where one could use this site without having an account. It would be simple and would not include things like a weigh in page or chart history. Just a simple program that would allow users to quickly input their calories for the day.

hmmmmm

hi Rohmr,

I think members definately need to register.
I hate to feel a craigslist vibe here with non-committal lurkers. lol

I favor your goal date burn cal calculator tool here over all other site tools/plans.
very direct and accurate.
I prefer my calorie strategy plan here over bodybugg.
But, I am really enjoying the bodybugg, its a good awareness tool. its keeping me conscious of my moves.
I had a simple enough 500 cal defecit yesterday!

Im goaling toward 500 cal defecit a day, 4lbs loss monthly.

Actually pretty close to yours, about a 500c a day deficit, eating about 1500c a day. About 4 pounds per month. When I work out I try to burn at least 500 calories, thats almost every day.

Ive lost about 40 pounds already and have slowed down a bit due to life in general. For the last couple years I have been able to stay between 215 and 225 (depending on the time of the year).

Which was much better than being at 275 when I first started, after the whole cancer thing. So weird to actually have gained weight while on Chemotherapy.

I have been cancer free for about three years now (thank you G-d!), but it really did a number on me and I dont have the same energy I once had.

But its a good thing, gives me a reason to keep exercising and trying to stay in shape, weight loss or not.
