I have lost 40 pounds since I first had her, that is also including the 5 pounds I have lost since I have been cleared to work out. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I use to be very good at this type of thing being a vet and all. But this past month I have only lost 5 pounds and I am upset with myself. I want it to come off now. I am intaking about 1200 to 1500 calories a day and I burn about 350 to 400 in the gym daily. It just doesnt want to come off.

Am I eating enough, I know sometimes if you dont eat enough your body stores fat due to you starving it. I dont think that I am starving it. I am trying to practice portion control and pushing away from sweets. This week my weight has been up and down and I just want it to be down. Help!! I eat 5 to 6 small meals a day and workout. help me please!!!

First of all, congratulations! 40 pounds is amazing!!! Don’t be upset, even 5 pounds is good. I’ve read that it’s healthy to lose about a pound a week (thats average).

Sounds like you hit a plateau, something we have to deal with one time or another. You may need to throw a wrench into your diet. Are you allergic to anything? I have some friends that are allergic to certain types of flour, which makes them gain weight fast. It could be something you’re eating.

Take a look at this thread and see if it helps:

I am also a Vet and I remember how it used to be so easy to burn off the extra pounds. But now it seems like the older I get, the harder it becomes. Don’t give up, keep pushing and break through!

I think you have already lost a lot of weight. 40 pounds is very good effort. Even 5 pounds isn't bad. You should continue in the same manner.
