My Story
I'm a former Athlete that later became an Entrepreneur. I've struggled with my weight since my early 20's. I was a bean-pole until late high-school before developing into my body. I was super-fit until I started my first company at 24. Then all my years of bad eating habits finally caught up to me in my new sedentary lifestyle. With no time to exercise, I inflated slowly and years passed but I lost weight to hit 200lbs for my wedding in 1998. I was happy with that but got back to old habits again. I hit 240lbs by Feb 2003 and decided that was it. I started working out, counting calories, etc and within one year was down to 205. A good weight for my build but continued to push for more. I struggled to drop more but didn't mind that it wouldn't budge. I stuck with it until I lost my job and my first child was born all within 2 months. My bad eating habits returned and my weight crept up again and years passed. I've hung around 230 to 240 for the past few years but hit 246 last month. I've decided again to get a handle on this once and for all. My goal is to lose 1 to 1.5lbs a week and be at or below 200lbs by March of next year. So far, 11lbs lost and counting. I was already a week into my plan when I found this site which is why it reflects 241 as my start weight. I believe in simplicity. Calories in vs. calories out will always work. I eat what I want but stick to my goals of small portions and calories spread throughout the day while keeping a deficit against calories burned. It'll work and I've found my groove. I love to golf and surprisingly, YES, it is exercise. Walking 18 holes with a cart can burn 1400 calories. Now that's fun exercise.
I uploaded two pictures. Instead of short term goal and long term goal, I uploaded Fat me and then me at 205 a year later. This is better motivation for me. I can see that I've done it before. I know I can do it again.
My Goals For This Year:
199lbs by March 2012
Favorite Books & Music
I don't see how this is relevant to losing weight but....
The internet is my favorite 'book'. Anything you want to know or study is right there. Favorite Websites is more appropriate. They are:
Wolfram-Alpha
UFC
MMAmania
Twitter
LinkedIn
TechRepublic
WiMAX360
And this one.. of course.
