Were half way through summer. MaCC's (Matthews Calorie Counter) rebuild is going well. I just completed rebuilding the total back end, which is pretty amazing because it only took me 3 weeks, compared to about 1.5 years of development. Something like 50k lines of code rebuilt, retooled or replaced. My fingers are sore!
You may not notice to many changes right now, but a lot of the rebuild was toward the future. Things are a lot more efficient, many systems just need to be connected to the front end.
One example is how you interact with foods. In the near future you will be able to see full nutritional food tags for each of your foods. You will also have the option to add those foods to the master food db for others to use. Base food items can no longer be deleted. This was done for performance reasons, both server and my database health. Many of these changes are ramping up to something special ; ).
The sharing of foods and exercises within your Support Groups are currently disabled until I can finish the front end work.
I am now working on the overall look of the site, something that I have been looking forward to for the past eight months. This could take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. After which I will begin the Calorie Counter and Exercise Page rebuilds.
Hope your summers are going well, happy dieting!
